CEO Briefing Paper

Redesigning the Enterprise for the Agentic Era

A CEO’s Operating Framework

Vijayan Seenisamy · May 2026 · For chief executives and boards

Abstract

The same models, the same vendors, and the same talent pool are available to every enterprise. The outcomes differ by orders of magnitude. What separates the compounding minority from the stalled majority is not what they bought. It is how they are organised to run what they bought.

This paper argues the strategic response is to run two operating models in parallel. Path A maintains productivity within the current structure. Path B builds the intelligence-centred operating model the agentic era requires. Only the CEO has the authority to authorise both, and only the CEO can design the integration between them.

The paper provides the framework: the first principles of the agentic-era enterprise, the two-path architecture, and the decisions that cannot be delegated. The book that follows provides the operating manual.
